Richard Bond

Overview and Experience

Richard joined Dragonfly as Creative Director in 2017 and became Managing Director in 2019. He started his career in TV as a secretary, before directing his first network documentary aged 26. After joining Raw TV in 2007 he was promoted to Executive Producer and then Head of UK Factual, and alongside many factual series and single films he also made the ground-breaking Channel 4 dramas Blackout, The People Next Door, and Cyberbully. In a career spanning 25 years he has picked up a variety of awards including an RTS, a BAFTA Cymru, a MIND Media Award, the Signis Prize, a CINE Golden Eagle, a Real Screen Award and the Prix Italia: Best Drama, and he’s been nominated for a BAFTA in both the factual and fiction categories. Under his leadership, Dragonfly has recently been named as the Best Place to Work in Television by Broadcast magazine.
