Overview and Experience
Vinnie is a highly experienced and versatile creative who started her career in news production before moving to work on a variety of talent-led content. She won a BAFTA for Best Entertainment Programme for her work on Strictly Come Dancing for BBC1. Vinnie has a wealth of talent relations experience and is never short of ideas! She now leads on the delivery of BBC Studios’ on-air creative diversity and inclusion strategies. Recently, she developed and implemented their pioneering “Inclusion Rider” and set up a mentoring partnership with ScreenSkills.

Vinnie Shergill is the first BBC Studios leader to be placed in the role of Head of Creative Diversity for Production. In this role, she has pioneered many new initiatives including the development and implementation of an Inclusion Rider for all new BBC Studios’ commissions committing to on and off-screen diversity as well as a mentoring partnership with ScreenSkills. Her work in this area has been passionate and exemplary and this is why I have nominated her for the much needed diversity innovations she has worked hard to introduce.
